Eugenia Parrilla works with a mixture of the languages of tango and modern
dance. Eugenia was also was part of Tango Discovery. She is a very talented
dancer, dancing for many years with Chicho Frumboli. She has sensual and
accurate movements, and through time she has experimented and matured a

Thanks to her teaching and to her way of dancing, she offers a unique chance to
see a real expression of “tango nuevo”. Eugenia: natural and clear in her concept of movement, one of the most exciting young dancers right now. Investigation, and the
use of dynamics and energy form an important part of her teaching vocabulary.

Gaia and Leandro have been working together since 2005. Apart from Tango
Gaia studied classical and modern dance, while Leandro studied artistic
gymnastics. With an emotional and dynamic dance, They are seeking to
connect classical and modern elements of tango argentino in their
improvisations and spontaneity, and in the sincerity of their movements.
Their classes beginn with a focus on technical elements, and follow by a
concentration on dynamic and musical elements. Figures are used as examples
to lead the class to a more in depth treatment of the theme. Their teaching
unites precision and emotionality with a special attention on the
connection between two people.

Cristina & Homer Ladas both started their tango obsession in 1997. They finally met each other at the all-nighter in Berkeley, CA in 2001. After signing-up as dance partners at a Portland Tango Festival in October of that year they fell in love and were married 8 months later in May of 2002. Each brings with them over a dozen years of social dance experience emphasizing a fusion of tango ideologies, via the 'one tango' philosophy. As teachers they are committed to creating a positive class environment and try to reduce barriers that may inhibit students from really finding their own dance! Small epiphanies can & do occur in their students all the time. Homer is also a founding member of the non-profit Project Tango organization whose biggest local projects include the weekly CELLspace alternative milonga and the Tango Exchange. He is currently an active board member in charge of live music development and grant sponsorship. Lastly, Homer is an active student of tango music. His current obsession, starting in October of 2009, is the bandoneon! His previous obsession (since 2005) was the double bass. Homer helped develop and also played with a locally based ‘student’ tango band called Los Bandacticos. He also has performed in several community orchestras (SFTX and TDLM). He hosts or participates in free music jams (some locally but mostly on the road). Future endeavors are in the works to start a local, Project Tango sponsored, community orchestra. Cristina is currently recovering from a life altering kidney disease and, beyond her regular ‘tango functions’, is a dedicated student of Yoga and Pilates.
